" After seeing a friend's social media posts tagging and raving about Trails and Training, I decided to contact Tash and enquire. Well that was nearly 2 and a half years ago, and I'm so pleased I did! I went along to the strength sessions and the hills and stairs sessions for a while and then decided to go to 1:1 coaching. Tash and Michael are so knowledgeable about all things running, whether it's on road or trail and their passion to help others succeed is second to none. Their coaching is so personalised to align with individual goals and they are so mindful to take into consideration your health, fitness level, injuries, family and work commitments, to build a program that is right for you. I have completed several road and trail half marathons with the guidance of Tash and Michael. After a fall in the last 250m of Melbourne half marathon in 2023 lead to knee surgery in February 2024, I had to withdraw from UTA50, and I thought my running days were over. But by meticulously following physio and strength programs, I was back with Trails and Training 12 weeks after surgery. Tash and Michael have been absolutely fantastic in their approach since surgery and have carefully built my run training program accordingly. I have just recently completed UTA 11 with coaching from Tash and Micheal, something I didn't think I would have been able to do again. I'm so grateful to have the support of Tash and Michael. The time they give to all their Trails and Training and Run Trails community is amazing!
I can't recommend Tash and Michael and their 1:1 coaching enough. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner, Tash and Michael are the best"

After two failed solo attempts (and a few injuries), I finally crossed the finish line of my first ultra trail – and I owe a massive thanks to Natasha and Michael from @trails_and-training
They built a personalised plan that fit me – my schedule, my strengths, my setbacks. Weekly check-in calls kept me on track, and the training plan synced straight to my watch. All I had to do was hit “go” and trust the process.
From mindset coaching to technique tweaks, they brought so much experience and support to the table. I never felt alone on the journey – and this time, I made it to the start and finish line, injury-free and smiling.

I have been coached by Tash and Michael for 18mths.
In this time they have trained me for UTA 50, UTK 100, UTA 100. They got me to the start line fresh, motivated, uninjured and confident that I could and would complete the race and achieve my time goals.
Tash and Michael’s knowledge of all things train running takes the guess work out of training.
They are truely selfless with their time and do everything in their power to help you achieve your goals.
They have created a community of trail runners ensuring there is always someone to plan a long run in the trails with.
It is a partnership between coach and athlete. They foster a collaborative environment that helps a busy mum like myself balance family/training balance.
Do yourself a favour and engage Tash and Michael to help you achieve your big audacious goals.

“Couch to Ultra” in under 7 months - that was the ambitious plan I took to Tash and Michael when I first met them
No hesitation from their end, they formulated a plan and we got to work, I trusted them and the process every step of the way, and they delivered in spades. They have so much knowledge and practical experience to impart, but equally as important to me is they genuinely care for their runners I couldn’t think of anyone else I’d want coaching me to my goals

My Last Hoorah – UTK100
Before joining Trails and Training, my preparation for trail events was pretty minimal—just a couple of runs a week in the month or two leading up to race day. I’d completed a few 22km and 50km events, but nothing too structured. Then, in 2023, I received life-changing news: I was scheduled for a double hip replacement in December 2024. My specialist strongly advised against continuing to run, warning it would damage the new joints. That hit me hard. Trail running brought me immense joy and clarity—especially in the mountains—and I wasn’t ready to give it up. So I made the decision to make theUltra-Trail Kosciuszko 100 my final adventure. The race happened to be one week before my operation. Perfect timing.Working with Tash and Michael and following a structured training plan was all new to me, but they made the transition seamless. They created a customised program that respected my physical limitations and allowed extra recovery time. The plan included strength work, hill sessions, stairs, speed intervals, low heart rate runs, and progressively longer runs with increasing elevation.I especially looked forward to the group sessions. Tash and Michael created a fun, supportive learning environment where hard work didn’tfeelhard—we were often smiling through it. They taught us proper technique and trail-specific form, helping us move more efficiently across all kinds of terrain.Even outside group sessions, I never felt alone. Whether it was a solo long run or a training weekend, the coaches or someone from the training group was always willing to join in. The group support made the journey even more rewarding. As the program progressed, I saw massive improvements in my strength, endurance, and confidence. My training was specifically tailored for the 3,000m+ of elevation gain in the UTK100, and each hill session noticeably improved my power and pace. Beyond the physical prep, Tash and Michael also helped with race-day logistics—gear, nutrition, recovery—everything.By the time race day came around, I was the strongest and fittest I had ever been. Despite tough weather, I ran with a smile the entire way and finished feeling proud, strong, and fulfilled. If you're looking to improve your trail running, connect with like-minded runners, or simply get fitter in a fun and encouraging environment, I can’t recommendTrails and Training enough. They helped me make my "last hoorah" one of the best experiences of my life.

Having a run coach has been a game changer for me for so many reasons.
I started running about 8 years ago and began with couch to 5k and parkrun. After seeing a friend running different ultra marathons, I thought I’d sign up for my first UTA. I’d had a few injuries and thought maybe I’d try a run coach to see if this would help. I initially joined trails and training for a few strength sessions and from there jumped on board for one on one coaching and have never looked back. Their knowledge and experience guided me through multiple trail events and distances with continual progress along the way. They have shared their knowledge and experience on nutrition, hydration, gear and event preparation, which all contributed to achieving big goals.
Fast forward a few years and I’ve now finished UTA22 and UTA50 twice, and recently completed Ultra Trail Jervis Bay 100km in a time I never thought I could achieve, injury free, with the biggest smile on my face.
The training for these events can be tough, but Tash and Michael are always supportive and flexible while providing a push in the right direction when needed.
For me, having the accountability, support, and guidance has allowed me to fit training into my lifestyle of full time work, mum and wife. Life can throw curveballs and having weekly phone calls to discuss progress (and setbacks) has kept me on track and seen me achieve goals I never thought I could.
